Pros
There are some great teachers and mentors in the school, knowledgeable, experienced and energetic. There is collaboration among levels, good curricula development and extra-curricula activities that enhanced students learning and needs on a consistent basis.
Cons
Even though the main source of toxicity in the school has been removed, there is still a toxic culture that was nurtured by, the previous Assistant principal and others, deeply ingrained in the structure of the school. This persistent atmosphere makes it hard for new and old employees to grow, feel accepted, valued and appreciated in the school. There’s lack of accountability, acknowledgement, and even denial from the administrative staff about these issues. There’s still a long way to go for the school to get rid of the web of toxicity ingrained in many people. This impedes the institution from real growth as it doesn’t allow, for example, the DEI committee to do real palpable impacting work.
