Caring leadership makes it a great workplace - Area Manager Universal Storage Group Employee Review

I have been with Universal for several years and one thing I've noticed in the last 3 years especially is every year they bring us an even better benefits package and work hard to actually lower our healthcare costs. Where else can you get health insurance for $5 a month? And short term and long term disability for free? And a big 401k match? And our pay is going up every single year and our bonuses. It's a great job being a manager, you never know whats going to come thru the door every day with customers. USG gives us the tools and skills to handle all of it and they have our back with customers and worh our personal lives. It's a great company to work for. They want us happy and fulfilled outside of work so we can do our best when we are at work. Highly recommend.

When you run a storage facility you feel like you are on your own little island and you know there are other properties out there that are other islands where other managers are but you don't see them every day. This could be a drawback except Universal actually brings us all together online every single month and they encourage us to reach out to one another and keep communication open and they provide the technology to do all of that. And they bring us together one Heather once a year for a fabulous weekend withis weekend with awards and cash money prizes and a wonderful training program. I guess the only cons are the occasional jerk customer but that's not the fault of the company and they actually give you the tools and skills to deal with it and back you up 100% when the customer complains.
