Security guard positions at many types of companies. - Security Officer Universal Protection Service Employee Review

Pros

Good for students, much time to study. Easy job environment. But of course, the pay reflects the job duties. Universal wages are also lower than other Security companies. However, management at main office will look out and keep officers who has proven reliable in the past, in the event that there might be complaints against the officer.

Cons

Bad supervisors, would not look out for employees. Would not honor past promises of shift change.

Pros

Hours were okay. Not a bad work life balance.

Cons

I was terminated for a manufactured reason. I was unfortunate enough to work at the Amazon facility at Helgeson Road in Madison, a contract Universal has now lost. I was merely doing my job on a day I was the only one of three security guards to arrive to work on time at 4:45 am. My colleagues overslept, were sick or otherwise came in three hours late for work. I was made the fall guy after an Amazon manager wrongfully assumed I was forbidding the workers from entering workspace during the time before my senior colleagues finally bothered to show up for work. A horrible experience and a textbook example of lousy management from both Universal and Amazon.
