Pros

Shop mechanics are very knowledgable and professional in the work place. I love the fact that there's a safety brief every day during the work week. It reminds me when I'm in uniform and I have to stress safety to all my fellow comrades to prevent any injuries and keep accountability. The multiple work sections the company has for the equipment can be ready for rent is a great process.

Cons

Before applying to United Rentals I was a heavy mobile equipment repairer for the US Army reserves for 4 years as a civilian. I resigned due to personal reasons to do what was best for my family. During my interview for UR I was hired as a Tech 2 due to my experience and impressive resume background. The entire probation period I was set up to only service and repair tech 1 level equipment. I was also not put on the list to attend any of the equipment course classes that went on during my employment there. 3days before my probation ended I was terminated from UR because I did not agree to be demoted to a entry level technician. Now that I think about it I truly believe I was set up for failure from the day I was started with the company. Yet I still believe that UR is a great company to work for , but the leadership in the K25 branch needs to start leading by example DK. Don't treat veterans different due to their service connected injuries. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else, especially another veteran.

Pros

Excellent benefits and a plethora of tools ans support. Company truck for sales reps at $75 per pay period. It’s a very well known company so you get a lot of business from national accounts. If you can get your foot in the door, it’s an experience that’s worth it. No regrets.

Cons

Due to their size and like so many publicly traded companies, there is a huge disconnect on the expectations. My manager did his best but you could tell his bosses were asking for unachievable results. My sales manager was clueless at her role and no sales experience to lead a team. Things she would ask from us were counter productive. Not anything I couldn’t deal with.
