Pros
Good health benefits for union employees, Job security, relatively ok pay. It says 20 words minimum in the "pros" column but i honestly dont have that many positive things to say about UP.
Cons
Rules are out of this world. Super strict. Some supervisors abuse their power and shouldn't be in the position that they're in. Tendency to promote laborers to foreman instead of people that deserve the promotion. Nepotism is alive and well at U.P.. Company has a mandatory 30% fail rate on operations tests called ftx's. dont give them a reason. You must follow the rules to the T!!! Company is slowly removing all opportunity for craft employees to make some real money.. thank god this is a union job because it would be alot worse if it wasnt... not to mention a 1000 more reasons why this is a horrible company... so all in all there are so many more cons then pros with this company.
