Working alongside people in the Phone Room (what they call the Patient Access Department), Medical Assistants and select Nurses was the only Pro to this job

The pay is embarrassingly low. Management and supervisors cling to charts and “metrics” they clearly don’t understand, but still use them as weapons to control and punish staff. They flat-out ignore the benefits written into the contract. I had to go to arbitration over a fraction of the $3,000 they’re supposed to provide for tuition reimbursement—because instead of being honest about not wanting to pay, they chose to dismiss my education and gaslight me for even asking. They love to flaunt their priorities: doctors pulling in tens of thousands in bonuses get to win extra cash at employee parties, while frontline workers get tossed a dollar-store planner and a syringe pen like it’s some kind of reward. It’s a workplace built on inequity, hypocrisy, and the absolute minimum regard for the people who keep it running.
