Pros

If your lucky enough to have a good manager and be given good roles you could do okay. The pool table is nice and St Albans as a location is great. Some fun events

Cons

You have to work insane hours to scrape by or succeed. Insanely KPI focused and target driven. Very very clique heavy environment. When you start off pay is poor. Take advantage of the graduate market because don't have a good enough proposition for more successful recruiters.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are really disappointed to hear that your time working in recruitment was not as you expected. As with any sales orientated role, recruitment has KPIs and is target driven and can be hard for employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a company, we are conscious of aiding work-life balance and our employees’ wellbeing, which is why on the 1st of January this year, we have introduced unlimited holiday and 2-hour lunches. At UR we try to maintain an inclusive culture, we host regular team-building events and socials to help with this. We would appreciate the chance to speak to you directly to better understand your experience. If you’re happy to do this confidentially, please contact our Head of HR, Lisa Booth (lisa@understandingrecruitment.co.uk).

Pros

The career structure of UR literally blows every other US recruiter company out of the water for many reasons. 1) There is a very clear process on how you should be earning, achieving, and proceeding to the next stage in the company. 2) The structure of promotions and earnings doesn't leave anything to the imagination! If you earn/ work hard you succeed and if you don't... then you won't. 3) The HR department, management, and general staff are so kind and really lend you a helping hand to get on your feet. Much like other recruiting firms, you are NOT just tossed off the deep end. In fact, there is a training process that clarifies what you should be doing and why it is important. 3) The people are wonderful. I live in a completely different country from the main hub office but I still feel a strong sense of teamwork from the UK office. 4) Boston specific Pros: The office is beautiful and has plenty of free amenities. The COO gives you hands-on experience that is invaluable and it makes adapting to recruitment a wonderful experience. The environment is competitively fun in a way that makes you want to fill those roles. 5) Lastly, Incentives: If you earn you are open to all-inclusive trips all over the world among many other small perks.

Cons

Nothing to note in terms of cons

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! It's great to hear you are enjoying life at Understanding Recruitment USA in our Boston office. You're absolutely right in saying that in recruitment, what you put in, is what you get out and that it can be a really rewarding career. It's hugely important to us to make sure we are all one team despite having offices in different locations, so if you and your team think there is anything more we could be doing please do let us know at marketing@understandingrecruitment.co.uk
