Pros

Interesting work for a worthy cause

Cons

ED is highly unprofessional. Micro-manages every aspect of the office, even though she lacks any substantive experience in the world of non-profit management. Explains away her anger problems and unpredictable behavior as "passion", but creates an environment that is unhealthy for all employees. Incredibly high turn-over, but a complete lack of personal accountability for this by ED. Ego is out of control and seems more concerned with media appearances than assisting clients. ED is antagonistic towards other non-profits and makes it very difficult for employees to work collaboratively with the larger human rights community.

Pros

This was an extremely valuable internship opportunity- I had an amazing supervisor and I learned a lot! My supervisor was also super flexible with my class schedule.

Cons

In the future, I would hope that there's more opportunities for cross-departmental training.

Pros

You do really impactful and meaningful work, get to be creative, and really hone your communication and social media skills. I learned so much and had a really good experience getting to know my colleagues, learning about this social issue, and using my creativity to figure out ways to communicate better to the public. I feel that my perspective was really expanded and my ability to create and communicate was really sharpened at this job and I had a great time doing it.

Cons

Communication from management was at times unclear, some resistance to moving the company forward social media and tech-wise by expanding to new platforms and updating current ones. There were a few times that management was unprofessional. It was common to be overworked.
