Pros

Paid training, but that's about the only pro.

Cons

I'm not sure what the vetting process is for the instructors they hire, but the guy we got couldn't teach his way out of a paper bag. It was so bad that a lot of people in the class were failing, and they had to change their GPA rules so they didnt look as bad.

UST Response

We are very sorry that your experience with the program has not been a positive one. UST Global is very proud of the Step It Up America initiative which has been successful at providing over 1,000 IT jobs through our paid retraining program. We do feel it is necessary to address the false claim that our grading standard was in any way compromised during this class. To the contrary, the standards set forth for this and all classes clearly communicate that the content is extremely challenging and there is a minimum GPA requirement to remain in the class. Despite the challenges, the majority of students in Step It Up classes successfully complete the course and go on to transform their careers as a result. Additionally, the training we provide is created in partnership with our clients and the instruction is facilitated by carefully selected teachers who are experts in the field of study. I am happy to discuss this further if you need to.

Pros

I have been associated with UST for almost 12 years, starting my journey as a Tester and currently serving as a Senior Project Manager. Looking back, the growth opportunities provided by the organization have been remarkable. One of the biggest strengths of UST is its people-first culture. The leadership team is approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in employee success. Throughout my career, I have received continuous encouragement to take on new responsibilities, learn new skills, and move into leadership roles. The company places significant emphasis on employee well-being, work-life balance, and professional development. I have had opportunities to work across different domains, engage with global clients, and grow both technically and managerially. What makes UST special is the trust it places in its employees and the collaborative culture that exists across teams. It’s a place where dedication and performance are recognized, and individuals are given opportunities to shape their own career paths

Cons

As with any large organization, some processes could be streamlined for faster decision-making.
