Pros
Great money and benefits once in the union but you work for every single penny you earn, and it won't feel like enough for what you have to deal with from management.
Cons
There are so many cons I couldn't list them all. In short, the management is disgusting. They treat people with the utmost disrespect. They work people 12+ hours a day, 6-7 days a week and expect zero push back and deliver with personal vendettas and bias. They have purposely ran people out of the job if they didn't like them personally. They left a female mail carrier out all night until 1am while they let every other mail carrier come back at 10pm with bringing back mail. They have screamed, threatened, harassed, and sexually harassed even the best of workers. The worst part, the amount of mail mishandling going on is despicable. There are piles and piles of packages and letters that sit next to the supervisor's desk for weeks/months not being delivered or shipped to the appropriate locations. I have pictures of the mail piles and with letters dating back to early 2023 when we are in March 2024. Those are people's checks, birthday cards, diplomas, packages, etc. just sitting. This system is so broken and it's sad the solution is so simple yet ignored. This job is too important to have this much horrendous activity going on at the expense of the customer's letters and packages.
