Pros
Tremendous sense of pride serving and representing the United States of America. Obtain excellent leadership skills as well as on the job training. Other outstanding benefits include a steady income (including base pay, housing pay, sea pay, and other incentive pays), excellent medical / dental benefits for service members and their dependents, tuition assistance (TA), Post 9/11 GI Bill (fantastic benefit), Navy College Fund, world-wide travel to fasinating places, 30 days PAID vacation per year, VA Home Loan, pension after a minimum of 20 years of Active Duty service, low-cost life insurance, meet and maintain life-long friendships with fellow service men and women. Experience of a life time!
Cons
Like every other job, not every day in the Navy is great. The toughest part is being away from family when deploying overseas for 6 months.
