Pros
Great benefits, healthcare, housing allowance, and food allowance. When you get out the VA benefits are amazing if you have the patience, time, and determination to actually get them awarded.
Cons
Horrible hours, little or no care about your family, awards based on who you know and worse who likes your boss. Some officers walk on a ship for the first time, are 22 straight out of college, and are completely disrespectful to enlisted members. This seems to be bred into them, especially at Annapolis. "All hands" now means E-6 and below. It's not uncommon to be yelled at for not working hard enough at 8:00 PM by your chief or JO on their way to bed. With all the talk about morale, nothing seems to ever be done. It doesn't matter what music you play over the 1MC when your guys haven't seen their families in port for a week and they've slept 4 hours a night. It's a JOKE. Choose another branch of service that cares about their guys.
