Pros

Good benefits including generous time off and sick days Excellent training Great job security Guaranteed raises (even for folks who don't deserve them)

Cons

Sustainment work (this pertains to the specific position but probably applies to most 2210-series jobs in general): basically, you'll be maintaining old crap put in place by a contractor 20 years ago and all the new engineering and development is handled by contractors Idiotic diversity and inclusion nonsense which unfortunately has been pervasive throughout many different industries and thanks to Biden has made it into the government/military world Old, lazy co-workers with lack of skills who would never make it in the contractor world or the private sector somehow keep their jobs and are roadblocks on required government processes that keep real work from getting done

Pros

Teaches you a trade while paying you. Social appreciation. Purpose. If you have no idea what you want to do with your life especially as far as a career goes, run to a recruiter. Regardless of whereever you come from a military career is your stepping stone into middle class and up living and career opportunity.

Cons

Every extra dollar you attempt to make beyond your rank will require more work than you will be paid to do. The real payoff monetarily you get from competing in the military will come in to play during your post life. Confidence, courage, accountability, etc are not standard attributes in people at all.
