Pros

The operational community features highly motivated, highly skilled professionals committed to accomplishing the mission with the highest standards of personal and professional conduct. Extensive focus is placed on leadership development and officers are given plenty of opportunities to excel.

Cons

The acquisitions community is a swampland! The officers are generally mediocre and unwilling to think creatively. The name of the game is bureaucracy, placing blame and doing as little as possible to get by. Blame shifting and blame placing are the key skills which seem to be rewarded followed up by brown nosing. Officers have so little authority in the career field that they suffer analysis paralysis, they seem incapable of making a decision with out excessive analysis, briefings and special studies. If you want to do great things, acquisitions is not the place to be. If you love pushing paper you'll love this place.

Pros

Laid back environment get your work done and you can coast.

Cons

Appraisals are off of the buddy system more often than not i.e. if you went to the same college as your supervisor you’ll likely get good scores if not good luck.

Pros

Getting 2.5days of accrued leave per month is nice, which adds up over time. You can request leave whenever within your schedule and it won't be denied.

Cons

Not too much structure when it comes to squadron training. Depends on your squadron but leadership can really determine your experience.
