      Pros

      Contrary to the general idea about UCR, this is a great place to do research. The professors are resourceful and genuinely helpful and friendly. Very diverse environment and very welcoming. Also, have a great Alumni.

      Cons

      Not very popular in sports and probably that's why people don't see UCR much. Also extremely hot weather during summer. LITERALLY.

      Great institution serving a diverse student population. Plenty of interesting research labs. Decent benefits.

      Cons

      Commuter school so traffic and parking can be terrible. Select your PI wisely, and ensure healthy work life balance.
