Pros

Hard to think of any really. Got the chance to work with some talented people and freelancers.

Cons

Where to start. Awfully managed. Most people in the development team had no idea what was going on in the game, largely due to being outright told by management meetings were not permitted. No real deadlines, just arbitrary features listed for completion on an arbitrary date with no discussion followed by holidays being blocked until said "deadline". Usually were unachievable, when they were achieved there was no acknowledgement of the deadline. A key member of the team was fired with absolutely no warnings, no disciplinary process, no notice. After this his duties were taken on by one of the owners with no experience, who then went on holiday for 6 weeks despite pressure being put on us as a key period of development. No benefits. We originally were given flexitime with core hours, but this was taken away. No sick pay but are usually still grilled when saying they can't make it in due to sickness. We were often paid late and conversations were overheard about how freelancers were deliberately paid over a week late. Instead of formally ending working with one freelance group they were just not paid and all contact was ignored. One ex employee chasing up their pay 8 days late was just being ignored. No trust in employees from management. Seems to be run more like a factory would than a creative team. Low team morale due to all the above. Often team members were told their work was greenlit and then management would message another team member privately asking to redo their work, putting people in awkward positions and generating an even more toxic work environment. It took one employee to sustain a serious wrist injury before they were bought a proper computer with the correct spec for their job. Employees with years experience in the games industry were regularly either dismissed or called liars when offering advice on standard practice. Employees were often talked to poorly when unfortunate circumstances meant they would be slightly late, despite still completing their hours. After multiple cancelled trains once, I was going to be 45 minutes late, I received an angry phone call from management telling me "It is not acceptable" despite giving them as much notice as I could and it being entirely out of my hands, even after doing lots of overtime around then too.

Pros

It payed the rent It filled my fridge

Cons

Management blatantly oblivious of any work ethics, I assume this odd train of thought is based on the premises it doesn't apply to a startup company. Two Nerds CEO knows nothing about ruling by example, with an appalling work attendency despite being in charge of critical executive responsibilities aggravated by a complete lack of very basics and minimal social skills. Direction is totally oblivious of any work regulation and employment contract. As far as I am concerned, Two Nerds was in breach of at least 2 major articles of my employment contract. In the course of 10 months working at TwoNerds, and out of 10 employees on site: 3 employees have been sacked without compensations 4 employees have resigned None of those have been replaced at the time I am writing these lines. Very little of the company intelligence involved in its last projects outlived their development: 70% of its personal being gone. Worst seat-cost I have ever seen in a video game company with workstations almost exclusively equiped with cracked softwares. On top of this, many employees often had to provide their own equipment to perform their duties in acceptable and healthy work conditions. Despite a management team far least experienced in the game industry than its crew, it keeps ignoring every single work suggestions, or warnings raised by the industry cadres recruited for their industry experience. This company and more to the point toxicity of its CEO is to be avoided at all costs.
