Pros
These are just my opinions based on my experiences during my time at Tweag. Fully remote. Strong reputation in certain open source communities. Some interesting client work. Some genuinely interesting and highly skilled engineers among the consultants. Can learn a lot from them.
Cons
Fully remote, also means little interaction beyond a brief weekly meeting. Poor grassroots management. Inconsistent, seemingly arbitrary application of internal policy. Senior staff turnover felt concerning. Minimal communication. Leadership felt to me as more autocratic than collaborative — in my experience, decisions leaned on personal impressions over data.
