Pros
- Interesting business that spans digital and in-person spaces - Good work-life balance and flexibility (let's see if this changes come 3-day return to office in September) - Some managers are thoughtful and supportive - There are smart, talented ICs to learn from - The business is successful by any true measure, just not successful enough on the ones growth-obsessed VCs care about
Cons
- Smart, motivated people are checked out, and for good reason! - The CEO directly said that he thinks employees are "slacking" and then immediately proceeded to take a one month vacation in Europe - Layoffs, benefit cuts, and return-to-office mandated after months of C-Suite insinuating that we should be grateful to be here and for our (comparatively low for tech) salaries - Weirdly cliquey? Even managers and directors seem skeptical of new hires and don't do much to make new people feel welcome - Heavy, tiring processes and operational infrastructure, but almost zero documentation of what's live or been tried before
