Pros

Great customers and it is fun to interact with them when processing consignments; if you aren't losing your mind because there are so many consignments and only two staff members.

Cons

If you're looking for an innovative company do not look here. They are doing things the way they started 20 years ago and have no desire to change. The closing process is insane even when I worked retail at my first job over 20 years ago I never dealt with so much paperwork. Then you have the weekly and monthly paperwork, I can only imagine the corporate office with rooms full of filing cabinets. If you're hoping to move up in this company you might be able to fairly easily. However do not plan on getting any training or support in your new position. There is poor communication from upper management at corporate. No communication on expectations, goals ect., zero training or support and you will be told one thing by the operations manager, something different from your district manager and then something completely different from the CEO. No one is on the same page and it ends up confusing the managers at the store level and causing dysfunction. In addition i witnessed that long time committed employees are not valued whatsoever. They would rather let a good employee who has been with the company 5 plus years go to a competitor than give them a raise or promotion. Customer service suffers because there are never enough employees scheduled due to payroll restrictions and this company is focused on intake not providing excellent service to its customers. There is no personal shopping or assisting customers because the employees can hardly keep up with fitting rooms and ringing. If your the poor employee by yourself in consignment plan on standing at the computer for 8 hours straight entering items by yourself. Most retailers this size staff 8-10 people a day and do not have the consignment part to deal with. Turnstyle staffs 3-4 people a day sometimes only two people for the bulk of the day. In short beautiful store with tons of potential but they need to start listening to employees, move out of the past (its 2015 get a system that does not require your staff to be accountants on a daily basis) and provide better support for management and staff.

Pros

Seeing new items come in, good if you enjoy fashion or decor.

Cons

I worked here during COVID. I don't know how things are now, but at the time there was a high volume of consigners and not enough staff to handle the demand, leading to constant closures of consignment intake and a high level of stress for staff.
