Pros

The people who work as "inside" employees at the office in Seattle seem to have awesome teamwork skills. The atmosphere immolates a big, happy family. Additionally, taking your pet to work is awesome and shows how much Trupanion believes in the human-pet bond. Trupanion even employees "dog walkers" so employees who bring pets to work do not have to "take a break" to perform their job duties. Trupanion outside employees are called Territory Partners. They are the individuals who actually promote the product and build relationships with Veterinarians across the country. Their goal is to educate these practices so the vets themselves can actually make a recommendation to their clients. Being a Territory Partner has a lot of options for an employee because it allows the person to basically "own" their own franchise and operate day to day on their terms.

Cons

Trupanion's Management seems to team treats the Territory Partners as if they are expendable. Their inner philosophy seems to be "What have you done for me lately." They have a huge turnover rate. Trupanion hires these "partners" as franchisees without any salary or benefits. The partners even have to pay for their own collateral material such as brochures and etc.. However, they set strict and sometimes unreachable selling quotas and then often "let someone go" when they don't meet the quota--even if that individual had previously done well.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
