Pros

Bring your pet to work with you. Prospects for continued growth are good but profitability remains elusive. Flexible work environment. People believe in the mission to provide healthcare for pets. Very un-insurance like on purpose... more like I would imagine a start-up high-tech company to be like.

Cons

Caught between worlds with an identity crisis. On one hand, "be yourself" mantra and dress any way you please is a little over done. I know other companies are doing the same thing but if you believe some semblance of respectful attire makes for a better work environment then this is not the place for you. Ripped jeans, major cleavage, dirty t-shirts, exposed tramp stamp tattoos and body piercings. No ways meaning to be judgmental personally as many people are comfortable with that, but there are those who prefer to work in a more professional environment. Sure, with the pets you do get hair and occasional accidents near your desk. A little schizo in that managers try to be hip and cool but then go overboard with the quarterly objectives and all of that non-sense. "F" bombs everywhere. Not an overly friendly place to work.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
