Pros

Money was decent, and had the option to take stipend or just have a higher hourly

Cons

Originally signed a contract for ICU with potential to float to PCU. After a few weeks of being there, the hospital changed their mind and started allowing us to go to med surge due to a crisis. When floated, the worst patients were given to the travelers, which is understandable to a point, but the assignments given were nowhere near each other on the unit and often dangerous. There is little to no help from the residents on night shift either, which often leaves you spending your entire shift contacting different specialties back and forth until someone is willing to help the patient. ICU was run by a bunch of younger women with minimal experience. If you (traveler) weren't a male, or cardiac device trained, you were floated to med surge with the worst patients the floor had to offer. Don't expect any help on your pulls either. Cost of living goes up in the summer too which almost made it not worth the hassle.

Pros

PTO & benefits are good, but not out of the ordinary for other hospitals

Cons

Had to practically beg for a raise, while knowing that I was making at least 10% less than nurses with similar experience in same job
