Pros

The company is a family owned and run business. They are great people who have been in the business for over 25 years, and are very knowledgable of necessary workflows for international distribution. Can be an okay stepping stone.

Cons

Working here is not a foot in the door. Pay is supposedly weekly but is sometimes spotty if paid at all. The owners take advantage of the many people who are brought on as interns to work full time for no pay. They have poor business ethics and put quantity above quality. Lack of organization.

Pros

-Remote work -Weekly pay -Genuinely enjoyed the very straight forward duties -MUCH easier than previous accounting job -May get half health insurance paid for, if discussed -Grateful for holiday time and bonus

Cons

-Red flags were present from the beginning. The hire just before abruptly quit after only a short while, which makes complete sense in hindsight. -Direct support during training was consistently rude/unapproachable and dismissive, often discouraging questions/responding rigidly with “refer to notes.” *While notes are imperative, questions are essential, especially for a new hire expected to take over during someone’s extended absence. (This lack of support/patience and the rudeness was absolutely reason #1 for leaving. **Couldn't feel confident in tackling more complicated tasks because there was no set up for success). -Training was almost entirely through instant message, with repeated refusals to screenshare in a remote role. (This is like trying to direct a movie via text message.. Reason #2 for leaving. Too much of a headache and just unusual). -Collaboration is poor from direct support who's expected to provide clarity/guidance. Simple questions were often met with unclear/evasive responses. Fear of asking ANYTHING became an everyday issue. -Compensation was below market rate for the workload involved. (This role was hefty on tasks and quite daunting for what it was paid.. Only took the job because it was supposed to be bumped up and not be 1099 for long. Sneaky contract made the unmet promises "okay". Not acceptable. Reason #3 for leaving). -Promised improvements in pay and employment classification never materialized. The role remained misclassified as 1099 while still being tightly controlled like a W2. (This bait-and-switch wasted everyone's time. A “temporary” setup stretched indefinitely). -Unprofessional culture where mistakes were publicly discussed, creating a lot of personal discomfort and totally eroded any sense of psychological safety. -Expectations were inconsistent and confusing. One day, responsibilities were removed without explanation, only to be returned the next day, as if nothing changed. (A mess and just aggravating. This created confusion and instability in the role). -Senior leadership often appeared reactive, making decisions based on assumptions rather than verified information. CONS: Hostile work environment, training format, 1099, no benefits, disorganized, no one to go to for dealing with bad support
