Incredibly smart team, sense of ownership and responsibility even on junior level, challenging competitive conditions - Product Manager Tresorit Employee Review

Pros

Team: A huge chunk of the team joined Tresorit in the early days after outstanding academic performance (some of them were even pursuing academic career in computer science back then). They are creative, inspiring, motivated, fun and has invaluable knowledge on their specific field. In time of growth, the team succeeded to attract employees with similar characteristics. I personally loved spending time with the colleagues as they were young, fresh and had interesting and diverse fields of interests. Culture: Knowledge is honored above all. They launched a learning program, which is totally tailored to the individuals, the content is discussed with the direct manager and employees get days off and budget for learning. Tasks: If someone wants to get more responsibility it is appreciated. Even junior colleagues have the sense of ownership for their smaller projects and get evaluated not only about their actual work but how they organize the process. When a feature is decided to be developed, the development process involves little bureaucracy and there are no rigid processes. Business model/market conditions: the market it is serving is highly competitive and figuring out the strategy to succeed is very challenging. If you are in a marketing position you can have real influence on this, to an extent you would not have in a bigger organization.

Cons

High-impact decisions take a lot of time on management level and this causes uncertainty on lower levels sometimes Do not expect promotions quickly (in the sense of people management): even years of experience with the company won't mean leading a small group of people as the organization is flat and there are already smaller teams which can grow with the same number of leaders.

Pros

They provide the necessary work equipment and take care of the training. Going to the office is becoming more frequent, though thankfully it's not required daily—yet.

Cons

The salary is low, and the bonuses are getting smaller — they seem to spend more on company events instead. Some managers also tend to favor the longer-serving employees.
