Pros

Work from home and one decent manager.

Cons

No one has any idea what’s going on. There is one manager who is worth his salt. The CEO has zero insurance experience and would rather boast about statistics that aren’t grounded in solid evidence. They expect high results while providing sub par training and zero ongoing support. Terrible system with constant bugs. Shady practices foster among agents because it’s the only way to make numbers. Zero customer service support so sales is forced to handle to service, further hindering close rates. Do not let their high salary attract you because it’s all smoke and mirrors. They will hire you and fire you within weeks.

Pros

I spent a little over 3 years at Trellis and I had a very good experience. Contrary to some previous posts about PTO, I’ve never worked at a place that allowed me to take the amount of PTO that Trellis allowed. As long as proper notice was given, it was always granted. Another thing I liked about Trellis is that they embrace remote work. If you take a position at Trellis, you’ll never have to worry about back to office mandates or having to commute to work. I’ve had a few jobs in my life but Trellis was the first that paid for my health insurance and I didn’t have to pay a penny for it during my time there. While no sales job is perfect, you have access to an infinite amount of inbound leads where there is some intent. It really beats working at the local Allstate office and being asked to harass local people in the community to buy insurance. I sat in my sweatpants at home and had the opportunity to make pretty good money. Lastly, this was the first time in my career working in the fintech/startup space that the stock options that I earned actually paid out for me with Gen acquiring them. I’d imagine a lot more resources and growth opportunities will become available over time now that Trellis is part of a 12 billion dollar global company such as Gen.

Cons

I wouldn’t call it a con but it can get really busy and chaotic but that’s better than things being slow without any business coming in. I’d say your job would be as safe as it’s ever been with how busy things are.

Pros

Great technology Many carrier options Remote

Cons

Terrible management. They have changed the comp plan many times in a short period of time that has caused chaos and more agents are leaving. Metrics are unrealistic and it's obvious there is favoritism at play. Only the favorites get the quality leads while the rest are fighting over crumbs. This is not the place to grow or make a lot of money. They measure every little thing and if you're off by a few percent (whether it be call availability, conversion, or QA) they dock your pay by 25%. In short, they find ways to take money away from you despite writing good business.
