They pay lower than all other local concrete companies. They have 2 laborers for every 15 finishers, then say "everybody is a laborer." Laborers we do have stand around and talk unless they are told to do something. Everyone here has a giant ego and thinks they're the best. It's almost like prison, makes sense since most workers are former inmates. Massive projects but can't hire people due to low wages. Foreman are mostly useless. They can't even set grades, the superintendent has to come and fix their mistakes. They expect the formsetters to set grade, that's the foreman's job. Every other company I've worked for the foreman set grades. They say they 'work all year." But that's a lie. When it snows one inch they call off work. Snows 6" no work for 3-4 days. Get harassed daily. Other workers calling me out of my name and the foreman participate. No respect at all in this company.
