They PREY on translators, run! - Freelance Spanish Translator Transn Employee Review

Pros

Nothing. They're as shady as can be

Cons

They contact you and offer a rate for translations which seems reasonable, afterwards, they'll claim that a "human" translator did not do a good job, and ask you to edit it, which pays less than half the original amount offered. But the editing you are doing is of Machine Translation, which means you'll have to translate everything all over again. Then, they'll claim your work was not up to their standards, and either STILL PUBLISH it without paying you, or they'll send your work to another "editor" for an even lower rate (like a reverse pyramid scheme). This way they get you to WORK FOR FREE. Several translators found their work published online AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY REFUSED FOR NOT PASSING QUALITY ASSESSMENT. If you value your time and your talent, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. They're as scammy as can be. You are going to be paid less than $5 for 2k words, if you manage to get paid at all.

Pros

Lots of available work. They did pay, though I am waiting for my last few payments.

Cons

Ridiculous demands. I think some of their clients can be very ignorant, unfair and they have no clue how to manage them. I also agree with some reviewers that their project managers can be quite rude.
