Pros

Flexible schedule. Lots of employees set their own schedule/hours (some employees worked 4 - 10hr shifts). It's a perfect job for parents of young kids (who often get sick). No issues with sick time and/or punching a clock and being hounded for being 1 minute late. Incredible sense of autonomy (Employees are allowed to manage their every day tasks - no micromanaging)!

Cons

Pay is not very competitive, however, the position gives you the skills necessary to achieve a higher paying position at other companies. Ie, it's a good entry level position for new graduates who don't have any laboratory experience. Learn a lot and push yourself to do your best while you're there, and you can move on to other higher paying positions in a few years.

Pros

Growing small company allows employees to map out their career and take on new challenges Family-like atmosphere; Family comes first Recent influx of new investors New management with new attitude

Cons

Small group of unprofessional, resentful employees not willing to change from the "old" way of running our business while we grow (see review from 2 weeks ago); thankfully they are being weeded out quickly Acquisition of new technologies and companies can cause issues with constant influx of new tasks, personalities, issues

Pros

Good place to learn if you are starting at entry level in the lab. Some of the staff is excellent to work with. Sadly, some have been forced to take on responsibilities that spread them very thin. If you're looking for a place to work/get experience for a year or two while waiting for a better opportunity this might be good for you.

Cons

There is little work/life balance the lab staff is required to clock in and out where as other positions of similar level are allowed to leave while on the clock and/or make up time outside of a 40 hour work week to avoid using their vacation. Lab staff and analysts tend to get stuck in roles making the work mind numbing. There is no research and development onsite so you are pretty much doing the same thing day in and out with little change and absolutely zero room for growth. Some promotions seemed unjustified and/or not deserved. There is a very very high turn over rate. The CEO claims to have an open door policy however, he is never onsite and Human Resources does not handle complaints, questions, or concerns at all.
