Pros

Met great people outside of leadership

Cons

Before applying to or accepting an offer from Transeo read all reviews including the interview reviews. Note the specificity of some reviews with 1-2 stars and the lack of specificity for the reviews with 5 stars. This review is for prospective employees, do your due diligence and research the company and its founders before signing on. 1. The organizational structure has leaders meeting regularly but cross-team employees rarely meet other than on slack or through their own initiatives. The result is that teams are unaware of problems with the implementation of the product leading to poor messaging and frustrated customers. 2. On multiple occasions, a leader has asked his team to prepare to present for 20 minutes or more at meetings. These presentations included Ice Breakers, Overviews, and Strategies. Employees spent hours preparing their presentations, but did not have time to present after the leader spoke for the entire hour long meeting(s). 3. This same leader has raised their voice to express frustration during meetings more than once. After the first time this happened in a meeting this leader then met with each team member to try and mitigate their own behavior. Executive leadership brought in an outside person to help improve the culture for both in-office and remote employees. The leader is still with the organization and the culture has not changed. 4. The company uses “rocks” as a project management strategy. Each week employees must detail their “rocks,” or goals, and their progress towards achieving them by the due date. There is minimal discussion of the rocks and no process to support any lack of progress but it is a requirement to complete them weekly. 5. Clients are school district leaders and educators. Clients have stated that they felt like they were “lied to” by the team. They have stated that it is a full-time job to set up the product so that it works. The churn rate is very high with some clients paying for Transeo for years without ever implementing the product. 6. The product takes months to set up for proper use. There are multiple modules, some take less time than others, but all are challenging for educators who have many responsibilities besides setting up a management tool. If you are looking to work for this company, ask the following: How many reps are meeting quota? What is the churn rate? How many successful clients are there? These questions will help you decide if this is a good fit for you. 7. Leaders have discussed their opinions of employees to other employees. It’s unprofessional to state that former employees just didn’t want to “work hard” because they were unwilling to work more than 8 hours a day and over the weekend to manage a challenging caseload of unhappy customers. These same employees were celebrated by clients as being incredibly proficient and helpful. 8. There have been 17 members on the sales team. 5 were fired. 5 quit. 7 total remain including leadership. The group pics on the About page are not a current snapshot of employees. In the top left pic, 2 people remain. None of the folks in the top right pic are still employed by Transeo. As of 8/30 5 of the folks featured on the current website in the “meet our team” section have quit or been fired. 9. There are 25 current employees. There are 8 leaders. Check the website to see how representative the leaders are and decide for yourself if this is a company that you want to work for. 10. Each negative review was written by someone who tried to help improve working conditions. Even the review by the person who had a difficult interview process was written by someone who wanted to work for this organization. There has been no coordination between reviewers, just a common experience from inside and outside the company. Instead of working to fix the problems, leadership has dismissed, denied, and suppressed any opposing opinions. Think carefully before applying here. Think carefully before working with this organization. These are my opinions and observations based on my experience working for Transeo. It’s possible that there are other people who have a different experience, as noted in the brief positive reviews. I stand by my statements. Transeo has threatened legal action against me–but even their legal notice contained a typo, misspelling “Transeo.” This is not a detail oriented organization and the customers are the ones who have to deal with that reality.
