Pros

If you've ever tried to earn money from home with "online surveys" or by "reading emails" you know how hard it is to make any kind of money, or sometimes even enough to cash out. TranscribeMe starts out with slow earnings but has tons of opportunities to advance within a few short months if you can prove yourself a good worker and a fast learner. There are NO minimum hours, no set hours, no experience required, and no special equipment. They'll provide all of the training and software you need, plus a vibrant Yammer community to answer your questions and help you get going. You can easily work just 15 minutes at a time - sometimes less - at any time of the day or night, from anywhere you can get an internet connection.

Cons

The pay - while the best I've found for no-experience, no-commitment, high-interruptions online-only work - is not going to touch what you could make in a corporate environment. Making minimum wage here means you are doing well. While some do earn a living at transcription, "extra cash" is the best fit for this job.

Pros

sounds great on paper. promised to make you a part of a highly professional, well paid organization

Cons

no upfront information on actual salaries/remuneration. getting through the training is extremely time consuming. after spending copious amounts of time and energy preparing to take the "pre" qualification exam, failed not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times. Each time, there is absolutely NO feedback on what you did wrong. So it's impossible to course correct. After all the hours spent and attempts to be accepted, the site shows they're not even accepting applications by way of taking an actual qualification exam. Their qualifications are extreme. I say this as a published author, former high school teacher, and holder of a Master's Degree. I've never had any problems with punctuation or with following format. Used their style guide to ensure I was doing everything right. Total waste of time.
