Pros

- they sometimes get interesting projects (which as an independent consultant you might not get by yourself) within the banking sector. - knowledgeable and seasoned practioners

Cons

- the partners (specially the president) still live in an era that ended at least 20 years ago. Very archaic way of running a firm. - the clients who used to give them work are mostly retiring from their positions and they don't get many interesting projects to work on anymore. - there are full time employees sitting on the bench for months and in some cases for over a year - no support for the practitioners who are at the client sites. The top management is focused only on sales - although they present themselves as a cutting edge consulting firm but they have no standard processes or training programs in place. As a consultant you are just on your own. - all the clients question 'value preposition' and pricing of Tramore resources, which is hard to justify. Its better to go independent and charge half the price to client and justify the value that you bring to the table.

Pros

- Company attracts strategy and high complexity multi-year initiatives - You will likely be working with a high skilled team in a long term assignment - Company leaders are easily available and will make time to brainstorm challenges faced in each assignment - Flat organization with no internal politics

Cons

- Supporting structure to consultants on the field not always clear - Frank (no sugar coating) performance conversations (which to me is a pro) could be interpreted as a negative experience by some individuals
