Pros

The salary is a bit above the market average, which initially seems appealing.

Cons

The most significant issue with this company is the high-stress environment it fosters. There's a constant pressure to demonstrate unwavering dedication and commitment to delivering value to the company. Failure to do so often results in the fear of termination, creating a toxic atmosphere of anxiety. There's a concerning lack of transparency within the organization. Layoffs happen without prior warning or open discussions. Colleagues often engage in conversations behind one another's backs, discussing who is deemed a "loser" or not meeting expectations. The company is quick to lay off employees, which creates an ongoing sense of uncertainty among the remaining staff. You're either on edge, fearing you might be the next to go, or you risk being labeled as a toxic presence if you voice concerns about the work environment. And doesn't seem to provide opportunities for employees to transfer to different teams or make compromises to improve the working conditions. They're rigid in their approach, which can be frustrating for those seeking a change.

Pros

Competitive pay, fast moving and interesting, Berlin office is cute.

Cons

Where to begin... Toxic culture, most managers have NEVER managed/developed anyone, no opportunity to provide feedback (nobody cares), focusing on pushing features with no regard for covering the massive gaps they leave open given the strict deadlines. AI adoption leads juniors to skip the important layers of learning to analyse data, so there are never real Root Causes identified, ensuring problems are never fixed in the long run, unless some senior loses sleep (more than usual) to conduct a proper deep dive and reverse all the bad work that has previously been done. People are afraid to speak up because of this perception that the company is ruthless and will just fire anyone who does not seem to be a 'cultural fit' (which they do). Work-life balance is a concept that is non-existent and even mentioning it will result in frowns from senior stakeholders. They are process driven, milking people for whatever they can provide and then get rid of them, seemingly unaware that a couple years down the line the knowledge was never retained and they are left with a bunch of people trying to patch issues that have only been made worse with time. In this pursuit, customers will lose... experience, money, life savings... After all, TR is a bank on paper but in reality a dumbed-down trading platform with card payments and escrow accounts (aka your money does not live there). - this is public information for those who bother reading the fine print. If you are thinking about leaving a job you love for more money but a risky start-up, I would say continue applying, this is not the one. The compensation is not worth the terrible experience you will have, no matter how many VSOPs they throw at you. DO YOUR RESEARCH - the reviews do not lie!
