Pros

- work from home or remotely. - time off when needed do appointments

Cons

- a lot of favouritism - no room for advancement - constant new technology to learn and nothing ever works - keep taking away anything fun - information is in a million different places and procedures constantly change - they really have no idea what they’re doing. - the new CEO and others in leadership roles keep making everything worse. - Paul Melhus was a great CEO. He has left many years ago and everything is worse now.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate hearing from former team members, especially those who spent many years with the company. It’s clear from your comments that aspects of your experience felt frustrating and disappointing, particularly around communication, change, and growth opportunities. We take that feedback seriously. Over the past few years, ToursByLocals has gone through significant change, including leadership transitions, new systems, and shifts in how we work. This has all been done to help us continue to grow and scale to be the first choice of travellers and guides when looking for local experiences. We’re actively working to improve clarity, consistency, and how we support career development, through programs such as Munch & Learns and the Career Compass, as well as being more thoughtful about how and why we introduce new tools and processes. Feedback like this helps inform those efforts. We’re grateful for the contributions you made during your time with us and wish you the best in what’s next.

Pros

- remote position - flexible(ish) working hours

Cons

- ZERO room for growth (you would do the same job as long as you are at the company. they are trying to implement some changes, but it is just on paper, make you to work more, but salary would remain the same) - huge favouritism - extremely chaotic - management lies to your face - the language they are using is very corporate ("it's not about compensation it's about the mindset" lol) - they fired people for no reason given - they don't employ you, but force you to be a freelancer - false promises about payraise, the annual raise is RIDICULOUS - Account Management managers are a joke, highly unskilled and fake
