Pros

They offer many holidays because it's a Jewish institution and they give the regular holidays plus the Jewish holidays. Usually about 20 or more days per year.

Cons

Unfortunately, the administrative staff is treated as if they aren't as important as administration and faculty. Several of the executive positions treat staff condescendently.

Pros

1 day allowed to work remotely - but some departments allow more especially when it comes to efficiency (driving 1 hour one way)

Cons

It is very stressful to request any holiday time or family leave. You don't know till last minute, I guess it depends on a manager and department, I wish HR was required to be on each request, than the manager can't play games that they will not approve your time. It is very hard to request time off, while the micromanaging head herself comes and goes as her personal schedule allows, Yet people are expected to show up at 8 AM and report immediately as they cross the threshold of the building that they are on time. People work hard, for little money, often after hours at the university's function without being fed. There is no room for independent thinking and diverse work style, with no raise in years and a worry to ask for time off, God forbid your mother passes away and you need some bereavement leave (that will go from your vacation). It seems as some may have been promoted to high level managing positions with no experience how to lead.
