Pros
The time to start each day was open.
Cons
Rob Mortimore, the owner of the Telegram, seemingly killed a board of education report – a government article – after talking with presumably just one side about it. That’s according to Telegram Editor Andrew Brosig. (“Rob expresses concerns after talking to PLENDELL,” texted Brosig when I asked why the story hadn’t run. Brosig was presumably referring to Dave Plendl, who was a major stakeholder in the board meeting.) Did a key player in Wyoming journalism violate journalistic ethics? What's more: Mortimore has spoken about practicing journalistic ethics. Is he a hypocrite? The meeting was at least primarily about scheduling over the holidays. The Telegram also killed a handful of other well-written and, if needed, well-researched articles over just a couple of months. One of those articles was about allegations of violation of law by the board of education in the area.
