Pros

stable work placement if they have a major project on the go. full time hours, most of the crew (including foremen) are easy to get along with, easy to book time off, 10% vaca pay after probation period

Cons

basically min wage pay, for a year basically. laborer, supply all you own tools (tough at minimum wage to afford a quality $300 drill-driver set, quality screwdrivers, linesmen, sidecutters, strippers, tic, hose cutters, knife, drywall saw, etc...), no overtime, rush work when foreman is around, often times not the right tools for the job (installing/pulling large cable, lifting transformers by man power), supply your own ppe, no incentives, high laborer turnover, government holidays worked into vaca pay setup, vaca pay on each pay check, fight for all hours worked previous to be considered towards apprenticeship.
