Pros

- Supportive colleagues who you can also have a laugh with… or when they laugh at you and make homophobic & sexual & racist remarks… - Free coffee machine when it’s working (usually works 25% of the time) - Drinks every Fridays!! (Okay maybe like 1 out of every 5 Fridays…)

Cons

I really thought I would think of a few genuine good things to say about TopQuote, when in reality, it’s a complete circus to work for and I couldn’t represent to be Guys clown (MD) like he wanted me to be. From the interview stage, you will be told of how great you are, and what you will become and how the business will be transformed with all these new ideas and how quickly you can progress within the company! Though you ARE great, the rest of it is utter BS, your skills will certainly not be valued much here. I can personally say, that I have followed the company’s ethos with great attendance, and consistently hit my targets. The problem lies with Guy, a very narcissistic man who doesn’t follow through with much of what he says. You will find the recruitment here much like a revolving door where a new group of people are taken in every month and the average person will stay for roughly 2 months. Holidays are pretty much non existent here and the pay is mediocre. No health or life insurance benefits which is funny when you’re working for a life insurance company... You will also have to attend meetings 2/3 times everyday grilling you of the office performance which gets very laborious because neither the MD or the managers are ever happy. They don’t care about changing people lives and making a difference like they claim. Even when targets are being met you will constantly get negative feedback and always being micromanaged. Moral of the story, don’t work here to sell life insurance, or you might have been in a position like me where if I spent a day longer there, I’d have took my own life from the 14th floor because of how depressing it can be.

Pros

You get 2 bottles of cheap beer every Friday (if the ‘managers’ are in a good mood)

Cons

- The way this company treats you is AWFUL. No amount of money would make me ever recommend this job to anyone. When I told my manager I was struggling very badly with mental health issues (mainly because of this job) he threatened that I would have the job taken off of me and I had dirty looks given to me all day while I was crying in my chair taking calls. - The amount of pressure that is put onto you is just unexplainable…you will be pulled into at least 2 meetings per day while they slate you, scream at you, tell you how awful you are at the job and then talk about coc*ine on the weekends. - You will be bullied and made fun of by everyone because the people that decide to stay there are just narcissists. - The pay is awful for what you have to do - you will be calling the same numbers every single day (around 2/300 calls) pestering people to get a new life insurance even though they have said no 500 times. • I always use this job experience as an example of the worst job I have had and will ever have. If you want to be made to feel as if you want to jump off a bridge then go here!

Pros

- The training process was excellent, Craig (Training Manager) and Amy (Recruiter) are fantastic as well as very helpful and supportive. - Other employees are very welcoming and friendly and will often provide tips and encouragement. - The process to follow when on calls is well put together. - Its central location is very convenient and has great views. - The office itself is good quality.

Cons

- The Head Sales Manager unfortunately is less than compassionate, is unapproachable, and is a downfall of the otherwise very positive work environment. - The 2/3 meetings held per day are almost always very negative and, although feedback as a general rule is always useful, it becomes tiresome when the focus is always placed on poor aspects of the office performance. - New employees are told the job does not involve cold calling as clients already have a policy; it is cold calling, or certainly as close to it as you can get and you must be prepared that often clients will treat it as such.
