Best Company I've Ever Worked For - Project Manager Toast Wedding Films Employee Review

Pros

I started working as a freelancer with Toast, but about a year and a half ago joined the team full-time, and I've only grown to like the company more the more involved I've become (I kind of expect the opposite, in my usual experience with companies). They prefer to promote from within, and since it is expanding, there's a lot of opportunity to grow into the right role for you. It's sad that this should be such a surprise, but they genuinely encourage the use of PTO and want to make sure employees aren't overworked and burnt out. I am not involved on the client side of things, but from what I can tell, they really do care about doing right by the couples, and it feels good to work at a place with actual good naturedness at the core of the company.

Cons

All the above said, when I was a contractor, I wouldn't have expected this to be the case at all. The rates paid to freelancers is pretty low, although that has improved some in the time since I was a contractor.

Pros

There are none this is a scam

Cons

They under pay severely to a degree that can't be legal within the united states. They pay a flat rate of $60 dollars for a full length 2 hour wedding video with 3 often mismatched cameras, bad audio, they have insane standards for what they're offering, you will wait a month and get notes back and this will go on forever. I've never encountered a bigger rip off than these people they need to be reported to the better business bureau. Seriously your pay winds up being something like 30 cents an hour. God knows what they are paying themselves too because weddings cost a fortune.
