Pros

Like any company you do get the few staff, however few, which are nice. Like most students in Hong Kong, they’re lovely to teach. I personally don’t see this as a pro but I know a lot of people working there do, there’s no lesson preparation that needs to be done. You can wing it.

Cons

There’s no disciplinary measures for staff who constantly fail to perform their duties, all they get is a talking to at best. Great place if you want a job where you can slack and not get dismissed. Students have multiple teachers, be prepared to have to sort out other teachers’ mess that they leave you with if you're responsible. There’s no real training given to staff, most of the senior teachers don’t even know their stuff but because they’ve been in the company longer, it automatically means they know more than you in everything. Not a place if you’re looking for self improvement. If you choose to leave before your contract ends even with 2 months notice, you will get hit with a months salary penalty fee, so if you leave with immediate effect you will get hit with 3 months salary penalty fee. However, the company is free to choose when to pay you your full salary which is a joke, during the pandemic it wouldn’t be surprising to see yourself only get 25% of your monthly salary at times so the penalty fees aren’t fair. The boss is manipulative. They always try to get sympathy from you to rip you off, they will place their financial burden on you such as losing a little bit of money over the pandemic and ask you to see from their point of view while they’re dripped out head to toe in designer brands like Chanel and Golden Goose. But when you’re struggling to pay rent because they cut your salary down to 25%, they don’t care, you can either leave the company and still pay the penalty fees or they’ll give you an advance pay which you need to pay back which is pointless. When business is doing really well in contrast, don’t expect a bonus. Money will only be taken from you, not given. Don’t bother giving any suggestions, always heard but nothing is ever done. The centre is focused on quantity for money, not quality. It’s basically the American Eagle of English centres, not Chanel. Company lies about where some of the teachers are from to parents. Some teachers for example are local from HK but the company promotes them to parents being from places like the UK, Canada, etc.

Pros

Lovely students and few nice Colleagues

Cons

From the beginning, the staff were unfriendly and unprofessional, making communication difficult and the work environment uncomfortable. One of the main selling points of this center is their claim of providing native English-speaking teachers. However, this is not the reality. Most of the teachers are not native speakers, despite being presented as such, which is misleading for parents who are paying for that specific standard. The overall quality of teaching is also concerning. Many teachers appeared underqualified and lacked proper training to effectively support students. Ironically, these same individuals are the ones deciding what is considered “good” or “bad” for both the company and the students, which raises serious doubts about the center’s standards. There is little to no room for growth within the organization. The staff operate in a closed circle and are resistant to new ideas or outside perspectives. It feels like an environment where things are intentionally kept “in the dark,” rather than improved—possibly to avoid being exposed. Additionally, the center relies on low-paid staff, including students, which raises ethical concerns and further impacts the quality of education. Overall, this is a toxic and misleading environment that does not reflect the image the company promotes. Based on my experience working there, I would strongly advise parents to be cautious before enrolling their children.

Pros

They're welcoming to most applicants and all teachers. It's a great entry job as a teacher. The salary is fair, they give lots of benefits like professional development meetings and staff parties. Most of the teachers and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Cons

There isn't much professional development to go beyond this role, the material can still be improved.
