Pros

Pre-Covid, the Summer and Christmas events were really good. Free tea, coffee, squash and fruit available (although there's never enough fruit ordered so you'd be lucky to even get a couple of pieces each a week!). On the whole, it's a friendly bunch of people to work with.

Cons

Lack of benefits, i.e. no maternity/paternity pay at all. Pension contributions are only the legal minimum. Disjointed ways of working through the company - no one seems to know what other teams do/where tasks should sit and who can complete them. Updates from CEO level are great and very motivational, but the day to day operational updates (e.g. new products, new processes, new colleagues etc etc) are very lacking, these would be SO useful at any time but given we're all currently working from home, this is definitely something which could be improved upon. Pay reviews aren't regular; one year banding for jobs roles was introduced and we were given a certain amount of time to hit different competency criteria to 'prove' we were worthy of a pay review to even get into the relevant banding. Come the time that review was supposed to happen, it seems all management and HR had completely forgotten that was even agreed and it just didn't happen. I've been told by a previous manager when attempting to negotiate a new salary that the best thing to do would be to leave the company and come back at a later date as new starters get paid more. Communication between different offices is limited. I've worked at Timico for many years and barely know who anyone is anymore, either by name or face.
