Nice offices, nice view, good co workers

Human Resource is horrible and gives bad references.

The idea of being able to help young men is very appealing. It can seem like some days are hopeless, but if you stick it out you'll likely see big changes in most of the boys that come to TRS. The pay isn't too bad for the position and the schedule can be nice once you get acclimated. You also accrue a pretty decent amount of leave, considering it is a non-profit organization. There are some veterans who are very passionate about their work, which can motivate others.

There is a huge disconnect between upper management/administration and direct care staff. The expectations are absurd at times because they definitely are too good to fulfill those requests. There is also not much support from upper management. They do the minimum of what they are supposed to do - ask where the problems area are. However, there are never any tangible outcomes. This place is also DEFINITELY a good ol boy system. If you are a white male who is okay with being a puppet - you'll move up in the ranks. If you vocalize any opposition, they will find ways to discipline and even fire you. There are definitely some questionable personnel changes because the changes are rooted in who they like the most - not who does the best work.
