11yI'm a big believer that where there is smoke, there is usually a fire. As such, we take these comments very seriously and strive to improve based on them.
However, there are a couple of things herein stated as fact that I need to correct (not because we are perfect but because accuracy is important to anyone who were to read this).
In 2013, we added 3 personal days to everyone plus gave time off for volunteer work plus instituted a reimbursement program for people that donate to charities. We did not in any way reduce PTO.
In 2010, we instituted a health program that required people to buy their own health insurance from a broker that had no relation to me. I honestly don’t know how someone would make any such connection. In 2014, we changed that and went to a group program so everyone had access to insurance because we saw the problems with the individual program.
Regarding growth, yes, we have grown through acquisitions as well as significant internal growth. Neither strategy by itself would have produced the growth rate that resulted in our Inc. 5000 status. We will continue to try to do both.
Most troublesome is the comment about not being truthful. Though we are far from perfect, we believe in telling the truth to employees as well as customers, even when it could cost us business. It sounds like we need to work further on this, and we will take these comments to heart.
