Pros
People at the middle level are pleasant but not particularly productive. Benefits and pay are good. Culture is good if you are looking for a 10 to 4 job. They give RSUs because the options would be worthless.
Cons
The CEO is a bully who comes up with some of the worst ideas imaginable and if you disagree he excludes you from the meetings and then fires you. He prefers younger weaker execs he can push around. The CEO pays himself more than $10 million a year and the stock has been in the same range for most of the time he has been there. Compensation is very good at or above the director level and it is used as a bribe to force your compliance. Most of the people around you understand that and do not fight publicly for what is right. You are forced to learn a lot of skills that you don't want to know, like how to keep quiet, how to say yes to bad ideas, how to ignore data and numbers. The rate of innovation is not fast enough to compete with the major players.
