Pros
There are some decent and experienced professionals who work hard.
Cons
Thrings has troubles, and solicitors are now leaving in their droves. Its not surprising, the firm has been in difficulty for several years, and signalled this to employees by laying off a high number of employees at the start of the pandemic, not even keeping them on furlough. There have also been several instances of cashflow issues. The management team are incapable of making or seeing good business decisions, with the head of HR being puppet master for the managing partner. While other law firms thrived during the pandemic Thrings chose to get rid of hard working employees, mostly support staff, whilst keeping under performing senior solicitors. Fast forward 24mths on and the firm is now scrabbling round re-recriuting the roles they let go. They also slipped out of the top 100 law firm list. The managing partner has been in place for so long, as no one wants to take on the problems, but its high time there was a change of leadership and direction.
