Pros

Nice facility, generally nice people, perhaps too nice, interesting work, very unique work

Cons

The people who run it are very good at their individual specialties, but kind of clueless regarding the outside world of business, how to market themselves, how to find new projects, etc. They don't know how to position their business or grow it and are content doing the same kind of work they've been doing for the past 20 odd years.

Pros

• Projects are challenging and often range from strategy to design/execution; often learning something new (big or small) everyday • Your team and clients expect a lot from you, challenging and given autonomy to do work. • Goodhearted, genuine people • Great PTO and flextime policy > offers flexibility in work hours and schedule • Great physical space and location (overlooks river, near walking trail, close to restaurants, etc.) • Solid benefits and generous employer contribution (health, dental, vision, short/long disability, and 401k/profit sharing). • Appropriate salary for level of work and responsibility • Opportunities for travel, but usually not crazy frequent

Cons

• Often deadline-based work, so hours can flux from week to week • Can be assigned to same client/account for long periods of time (which is also a pro in some respects because you get to know them and build rapport) • Some projects forge new territory or will push your comfort, so if you're wanting repetition, that often doesn't happen. This can be challenging because you need to figure out your way without a defined roadmap while also making sure project is successful. • Quality, attitudes, and internal politics of clients can sometimes make or break projects, which can sometimes be out of your control.
