Pros
- Excellent career progression opportunities for those that want it and display the right behaviours. As evidenced by the volume of organic promotions and internal career pivots. - Good market positioning. Working in niche and advanced industries at the top end of the market. Allowing you to be a genuine market specialist and earn better fees. - Impressive longevity and tenure across the seniors and leadership in the business. Creates stability. - Solid back office infrastructure including HR, Contract Services & Compliance, Marketing, Ops, HR, and Finance - which enables the sales team to focus on selling and provides people-focused services to the business. - Good culture. It is not a boiler room sales environment and there's a strong social culture. However, there is high accountability to performance, which gives the right balance. I've commuted 2-3 hours per day for the last 5 years, which I wouldn't do unless it was a good company to work for.
Cons
Historically, the business could have handled leaver processes better. This has led to many of the negative reviews that are born from sour taste. Although, many of them are exaggerated or false. However, this has improved a lot over time and continues to do so with the people currently looking after the people departments. The tech stack could be better. In these times, tech enabled efficiency is the leveller for everyone - let's not make it harder for ourselves.
