Pros

The benefits are good. No complaints about the work life balance.

Cons

Communication was often non-existent. I many times never had a clue about what my next work day would consist of. Too much wishy washy planning. I was told that I would go out of town to train all summer long but there was never a plan in place. I had no clue what would happen or when. That is stressful on an employee. There were many instances of showing up at 730AM just to wait until 9AM for either a plan or someone to show up, so I just started showing up at 9AM. Did not show up my last 4 days of work and no one even noticed. Tolerance for mistakes is extremely marginal. When I did make a mistake, I was reprimanded instead of coached to do better. Any phone call I received about a mistake was accusatory in nature without even gathering all the facts first. Worked for almost a year and never received a single 1:1 meeting to discuss professional development.

Pros

I could collect a paycheck for as long as I wanted, as long as i could handle either being ignored or abused, sometimes those two intermixed. Now read below for the cons.

Cons

For 7 years I was on fire for this company, I worked constantly, my laptop and work phone never stopped buzzing, even on weekend nights id get schedule changes and expected to re plan absolutely everything by the morning (about 8 hours of work to reconfigure everything). The work is plentiful for a salaried employee. Then all of a sudden all the best leaders started stepping out of the company at an alarming rate and new ones where brought in from outside and our company culture changed, it became a place where if you aren't cut throat enough you're doomed. But to top it all off, I could have been killed by a managers actions, a manager I had reported to my superiors and HR that this particular person was reckless and even tried to physically fight me and another employee (2 separate occasions) in the office and nothing was done until he nearly blew up a mile radius of the shop. I had no choice but to leave as I have a family I need to be there for.
