Pros

- Great place to start out right after college. The people are great and a lot of emphasis on (soft) skill development. - Fast growing company, lots of opportunities for fast internal advancement, also a good way to get to know clients in the financial services industry (Private equity, investment consulting, hedge & credit funds) - Recent changes (started Jan 2018), reduced the performance-based elements (more stable income, less focus on only numbers) - Benefit package very suitable for the generally young (21~25yrs.) workforce. Recruitment process and training well streamlined.

Cons

- Company slowly maturing, with changes in Jan. 2018 still in an early stage but most likely going to result in fewer advancement opportunities. (ie. external recruitment of managers, set minimum-tenure for promotions) - Still a performance-score based company at its core. Not suitable if you can't or won't focus on the items which improve your score. - Overtime not required or encouraged but a feature of client expectations in general. As a very client-oriented company, and with client account responsibility (given after 3-6 months at the job) - you'll feel the pressure to stay late. - Before changes in Jan 2018 - lots of turnover in every starting cohort (up to 50% leaving within first 6 months). Most leave do due to bad fit or demoralised by consistent low scores (which can be very much driven by bad-luck!). - Luck unfortunately still plays a huge role in the job - the latest changes (bonus on quarterly basis, higher fixed wage, performance reviews over longer period of time) - have reduced the negative impact. But where good luck has a huge upside, it pushes up the average and thus makes average luck = bad luck.

Pros

Good entry-level opportunity with exposure to fast-paced, client-facing work. The company hires driven, sociable individuals and can be a strong starting point for building communication, prioritization, and execution skills in a high-performance environment.

Cons

High turnover and inconsistent management quality significantly impact the employee experience. Success is heavily dependent on your team lead and manager, with limited recourse if you’re placed under ineffective leadership. In my experience, poor communication, lack of emotional intelligence, and unclear expectations from management made it difficult to succeed and negatively affected day-to-day productivity. Internal processes around performance management and PTO lacked transparency. I was placed on a PIP and terminated shortly after (within a week) in a way that felt abrupt and not aligned with prior communication, which was initially framed as a discussion around pending PTO. There were also delays in PTO approvals, and I experienced issues with compensation adjustments following a promotion that required follow-up to resolve.
