Pros
Great opportunity to develop skills for working with editors, designers, and a variety of client personality types. Tend to pick up a lot of interesting knowledge when writing for various clients. Will have a lot of practice honing the craft due to the large workload.
Cons
Upper management did not view the contributions of writers as valuable as that of other department. Pay not substantial enough to support the needs of a family. Burnout is almost inevitable, with huge workloads put on an understaffed team. Management prioritized quantity over quality, but would quickly blame the individual writer if a client complained. Loyalty was a one-way street; employees were preached to about the importance to being loyalty to the company, but management did not extend this loyalty in the other direction.
