Pros

Socially responsible company. No late nights. Overall company culture is decent, and the product served is excellent. Good benefit package.

Cons

While no late nights, some very early mornings. Advancement opportunities limited. Very little operational support. No real training program to speak of, as a new manager there is much you just need to figure out. Work life balance can be a challenger, with long hours and weekends and holidays required (this is pretty much the industry norm). Senior management can at times undermines store level managers.

Pros

The Works is very mission oriented, with great people who want to help kids explore engineering. The curriculum is very hands-on, with great projects to work with.

Cons

The flexibility allowed teachers sometimes meant not very much guidance was available to learn about new curriculum. Those in charge of managing/stocking materials have let the store rooms get disorganized to the point of chaos. Pay is low, with little chance for advancement.
